Like it was too good to be true... by Eliana Hirsch
It’s like it was too good to be true
The sunrise would never turn to darkness
But then the sun set for this hopeless romantic
Turn the clocks back to the days of madness
When insanity slithers into the room
Sly as a snake, crouching like a tiger
Stare-down till my eyes hurt
Comes a point where despair is all I see
In a forest with hundreds of trees
So remote, no one can see me
Too good to be true
As my flesh gets devoured, the beasts are enamored
Easiest prey, don’t care to fight another day
Too good to be true
Something catches and standing over me
Is the savior from my dreams
Looks a lot like me
But this girl has metal teeth
Snaps and consumes all my predators and gloom
No traces remain and continue to plague
Gives me a hand, as I wipe off the dirt
The blood and the soot
The most magnificent sunrise
Springs to life
As we watch hand in hand, in all of our glory
It’s time to continue our story.
